How do I book?
You can book online via Fare Harbor by calling us at 910.622.2503 or by email info@wpsail.com if your desired cruise time and date are not available online.

Will we be with a bunch of strangers?
Ocassionally groups request the same time and date and we will put no more than 2 parties on the same boat.  Feel free to let us know if you want to be a private charter and we will make a note.

What should/can I bring and wear?
It is recommended that you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and seasick medication if you are susceptible. Keeping a towel in your car is a good idea as water may come over the deck. Wear comfortable clothing that can withstand a splash. Bathing suits are permitted. For sails in the spring and fall bringing additional clothing layers is recommended due to typically cooler coastal temperatures. For our students on a lesson or certification course please wear secure non-marking closed toe shoes. Drinking water is provided at no charge. For our cruise and charter clients 21 and older, alcohol is permitted however Wrightsville Performance Sailing does not supply it. No glass is permitted on board. Snacks are permitted, however not recommended due to the duration of our trips. Electronics can be safely stored below deck.

What is your weather rescheduling/cancellation policy?

If weather or conditions look questionable the captain will contact you and give you options prior to the trip. So check your phone regularly or contact us if you have any questions.

All bookings shall be considered confirmed. Special Events, Group Bookings and Private Charters are held to a 48-hour cancellation policy. All other bookings are held to a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. Failure to attend without notification of cancellation will result in full payment. A refund is only available as long as resort representative is contacted prior to the cancellation window.

Where do we meet?
Seapath Yacht Club 330 Causeway Drive, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480. Seapath Yacht Club is located across from the park at Wrightsville Beach on Harbor Island, between the drawbridge and south bridge. You can park anywhere in the main parking lot. If a parking attendant is present let them know that you are sailing with Wrightsville Performance Sailing; the attendant will confirm with our staff. Once parked, walk through the archway and take a right. Walk all the way down to the dockhouse and fuel pump area. You captain will meet you there!

If you are a guest of the Blockade Runner we will pick you up from the dock.

Do you have parking?
Yes. FREE parking on site for our guests during your sail. You don’t have to hassle with paid parking or battle the crowds on other parts of the island when you sail with Wrightsville Performance Sailing.

How many guests can sail at one time?
4 adults maximum. 5 if a combination of adults and small children.

Do I have to do anything?
Only if you want to! Do as little or as much as you want, the certified captain on board can handle the boat but never turns down a hand with the lines. Usually, the more you participate, the faster we go!

What should I expect?
Expect to move around on the boat and prepare for the boat to lean (heel) from side to side. This is perfectly normal. Once you go through the motions a few times you will get the hang of what is going on! There are restroom facilities on site to take advantage of prior to leaving the dock.

Is getting to your location easy?
Yes! We are a straightforward drive from Topsail Island, Figure Eight Island, Downtown and Midtown Wilmington, Southport, Oak Island, Carolina and Kure
Beaches. We are a popular destination for New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties. Remember the Wrightsville Beach Drawbridge opens on the hour for waiting marine traffic and on demand for commercial traffic, be sure to plan for increased traffic during the summer months.

Is sailing safe?
There is an inherent risk with any marine activity and sailing is no exception, however, Wrightsville Performance Sailing meets all USCG safety requirements and is experienced on the water. Sport PFD’s (Life Jackets) are available to wear during the sail if you desire, in addition to the USCG required PFD’s on board. Children younger than 13 must wear a PFD at all times. A full first aid kit and First Aid and CPR certified captain is at hand.

Will I get seasick?
It is relative to your body and where we sail. Offshore in rougher water increases the possibility. The majority of sails will take place inshore in relatively calm waters. Let the captain know prior to leaving the dock if you think this could be a possibility and he will customize where you sail to better avoid this issue.

Do you offer paddleboarding, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, parasailing, or power boat and jet ski rentals?
We specialize in sailing only, however, we are happy to recommend you to many fantastic local companies that specialize in paddle boarding, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, parasailing, power boat and jet ski rentals. Contact us for a referral.

Do you offer sailing certification?
Yes! We are a US Sailing accredited school and offer Basic Keelboat certification. Our course is personally tailored to our region and boat and successful completion of the course offers our graduating students a recognized certificate by the greater sailing community. US Sailing is the national governing body for sailing in the United States. Please see the lessons section on our website for more information.
